Auckland take two NZMIHL games over Canterbury

Auckland came down to Christchurch over the weekend and took home five valuable points in the NZMIHL with a shootout and regulation win.

The Saturday game was tied up after a late goal to Auckland captain Alexander Reagan. Brother Christian then won it 6-5 in overtime.

Sunday’s game was a little less close as Auckland pulled out to a 7-0 lead by the end of the second period, before Canterbury stormed back with four goals in the final session.

The next round is in three weeks when Canterbury travel down to Dunedin. Auckland are currently top of the table, two points clear of Queenstown who have two games in hand.
