Youth Ice Hockey

Youth Ice Hockey in New Zealand

Ice hockey is an exciting game that combines skill, fitness and teamwork. While the New Zealand Ice Hockey Federation understands that learning a new sport can be overwhelming, we are always available to answer your questions.

Our goal is to provide information to people of all ages interested in playing ice hockey, including the benefits of ice hockey, risk management issues, how to register and equipment that is needed to play the fastest and greatest game on Earth.

Contact us if you are interested and we will put you in touch with your nearest club/association. They regularly offer ‘learn to play’ classes, and will gladly sign you up as their newest rookie!

Already play ice hockey? Great! Our partner regions and clubs provide various levels of social and competitive activity across different age groups including:

  • Super League (Under 9 and Under 12 aged players)
  • Bantam League (Under 15 aged players)
  • Midget League (Under 18 aged players)
