U20 World Championships, Dunedin 16-22 January

The New Zealand Ice Hockey Federation, in conjunction with the Dunedin Ice Hockey Association and the Southern Ice Hockey League, is proud to be hosting the 2017 IIHF U20s World Championships Division 3 from 16-22 January.

The tournament features 8 teams: New
Zealand, China, Bulgaria, Israel, Iceland, Turkey, South Africa and Chinese
Taipei.

Round robin games are on Monday 16 January,
Tuesday 17 January and Thursday 19 January. The semi-finals will be on Saturday
21 January and the finals will be on Sunday 22 January. Game times are 10 AM,
1:30 PM, 5 PM and 8:30 PM each game day of the tournament. The full game
schedule can be seen on the tournament website or facebook page.

Tickets will be sold onsite. A full
tournament pass for entry to every game for the entire tournament costs $15. An
all-day pass for admission to all games on that day costs $5. Children and
youth Under-18 are free.

The organizing committee are also in need
of some volunteers to help with game day tasks such as collecting tickets, goal
judging, penalty box, and statistics collection. We will provide explanation
and training for these roles. Volunteers
will be provided with a meal on game day. The volunteer sign-up page is here.

You can also contact Matt Foster our
volunteer coordinator by e-mail.

For those who can’t make it to Dunedin to
watch the games, they will be broadcast by livestream.

We
look forward to seeing you at the rink!
