The Queenstown-based Junior Stampede won the 2016 NZMIHL after the final round between all four teams in Dunedin over the weekend.

Queenstown lost their final game of the season to Auckland, but that was not enough to prevent them taking gold after victories over Dunedin and Canterbury. Auckland finished five points behind, Canterbury third, and Dunedin Junior Thunder fourth.
