Queenstown and Dunedin played the first games of the 2017 U14 NZPIHL over the weekend in Queenstown.

The two teams split two close games, with Dunedin winning on Saturday in overtime 8-7, and Queenstown winning on Sunday 5-3.

Auckland and Canterbury open their campaigns this weekend in Auckland.
