Queenstown created space for themselves at the top of the NZMIHL table with two close 5-3 wins over second-placed Auckland in Queenstown.
Canterbury pulled away from Dunedin to claim third place outright, with two wins against Dunedin in Christchurch. The first game was a 4-3 win, and Sunday’s game was 5-3.
Dunedin hosts Canterbury this coming weekend in Dunedin, in the final round-robin matches, before the finals take place in Dunedin on 11-14 August.
