We are calling for volunteers to help with the organising and delivery of the World Women and World Men, Division IIB Championships that will be held in Dunedin in 2025.
The Organising Committee is responsible for the organisation and delivery of these tournaments, and complying with the International Ice Hockey Federation tournament regulations. This is a huge opportunity for the sport of ice hockey in New Zealand, and we are after energetic and passionate people who are eager to help make these tournaments a success.
We will also require support on the ground across various ‘game day’ volunteers to make these events a success.
The two tournaments will take place in Dunedin as follows:
IIHF World Women’s: 14th – 20th April 2025
IIHF World Men’s: 27 April – 3rd May 2025

Organising Committee
We are accepting expressions of interest for the volunteer positions listed below for both tournaments. You may submit an expression of interest for just one, or both, world championship events.
Anyone is welcome to apply for a role within the organising committee – you do not have to be based in Dunedin as these roles can be completed remotely, and in the months prior to the tournament.

Additionally, the IIHF provide a document containing various regulations related to each role, which help provide more information about what the role entails, viewable here.
Please select all the roles you are interested in followed by a short description of why you are interested in helping and what you will bring to the team in these roles. Please also include any experience or expertise in relation to these roles.
Event Roles
We will also require more support on the ground to make these events a success. Please let us know if you are interested in helping out during the event. Aside from a few specialist positions, the only requirement is you show up and have a positive can-do attitude.
Please note you will be required to be on site for these roles, therefore applicants should reside in Dunedin or be able to make their own way to Dunedin.
Please indicate your likely availability and preferred roles. Our Volunteer Manager will liaise with you closer to the event on schedules, training etc.
