The Erewhon cup is the oldest sports trophy in New Zealand, with teams competing to hoist the trophy since 1938.

This year’s Erewhon Cup for senior ice hockey players, is being hosted by the Alexandra Flames Ice Hockey Club on 22nd – 24th July 2022 at Alexandra with an allowance for ten teams taking part.

There is a vacancy for one team from any region on a first in first served basis. If you are interested, please complete your details in the below expression of interest form.

Please note that if you are contacted to confirm your expression a $500.00 deposit will be required within 24 hours to secure your spot. If the deposit is not paid within that time frame the spot will be made available to another team.

The tournament will commence with two games on Friday night at 7pm, followed by a full day of pool games on Saturday starting at 7am and finishing at 5pm, then on Sunday starting at 7am and finishing at 3.45pm. The last game will, of course, be the final.

Once the tournament draw has been finalised, and costs worked out, it will be sent out to the person nominated on your team list, together with the final cost per team. This amount, less the deposit already paid, should then be paid by 31st May 2022. This early notification of the tournament draw will allow for accommodation and travel to be organised if necessary. Any team that withdraws after that date will not be eligible for a refund. If teams withdraw before that date, a refund will be given.
