The NZIHF hold National Championships in each of the age groups: - Peewees (under 13), Midgets (Under 16), Juniors (under 19), Seniors and Women's.

The dates and venues for these competitions are set two years in advance at the AGM.

The NZIHF has jurisdiction over any visits to New Zealand by overseas teams and also any local or National Teams that travel overseas.
