The Canterbury Ice Hockey Association controls all of the ice hockey played at the Alpine ice rink in Christchurch.

The CIHA organise hockey in Senior, Senior non-contact, Junior, Midget, Peewee, Women's and High School grades. Canterbury are traditionally very competitive at the national level and are currently Junior National Champions for the second year in succession.
