On Saturday
evening the Grand Final took place at
the Botany Down’s Paradice Ice Rink
between the local Botany Swarm team and
the West Auckland Admirals. The across
town rivalry has been immense and the
round robin games produced some
outstanding games.

The New Zealand
Junior Elite League (Under 16) concluded
this weekend with a single round robin
in Christchurch. In the first game
Canterbury defeated Auckland 11-5 and
then were defeated by Southern 8-5. In
final game Southern defeated Auckland
6-1.

Botany Swarm and West Auckland Admirals
will do battle for the 2010 NZIHL title
on the 4 September at Botany in
Auckland. The puck drops at 5.00pm and
tickets can be
purchased here.

The games will be filmed by Sky Sports
and broadcast on Sky Sport 2 on 14
September 5:00pm, Sky Sport 2 on 16
September 9:00am and Sky Sport 3 - 16th
September at 10:30pm.

The New Zealand Ice Hockey Federation is
proud to announce the second annual
NZIHL Skate Of Origin for 2010! The game
will be played on Saturday September 18th
at 7:00pm at the Queenstown Fun Centre.
Skate of Origin is an ice hockey game
played by New Zealand Team eligible
NZIHL all-stars.

The 2011 Ice Fernz Squad is
announced.
The 2011 Ice Ferns will
compete the IIHF Division IV
Women's Championships in
Reykjavik, Iceland in March.
The NZ team will be
competing against
Iceland, Korea,
Romania, Estonia, South
Africa.

announced an applicant for the 2011
NZU18 div 2, group A world championship.
It is Brasov, Romania. 19-25 March 2011.
It is expected to confirmed in

The NZIHF will hold
summer development camps for
Under 13 (Auckland - 18-22 January 2011)
and
Under 16 (Auckland 24-29 January 2011).
The objective is to improve player's
skill and hockey sense whilst
encouraging friendship, teamwork and
most of all have fun within the
framework of playing ice hockey. For

The NZIHF will hold women's ice
hockey development camps in
Auckland (30-31 October), Queenstown
(6-7 November) and Christchurch (4-5
December). The objective is improve the
individual skill level and hockey sense
of each female player in New Zealand and
further develop women's ice hockey
across the country.

Admirals beat Stampede 4-3.

Stampede 5-4 in overtime at Avondale while
in Dunedin Thunder defeated Swarm 5-4 also
in overtime.
